Counseling
for the
Common Good
Welcome! We are grateful you are here.
You might find it funny that originally we considered calling this venture Financial and Career Counseling for the Apocalypse. Even if it's not terribly funny, it is eye-catching, don't you think?
You see, at the Quiet Revolution of the Heart, we don't believe an apocalypse is inevitable--all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding. Instead, we are preparing for the challenges ahead directly--one hour, one interaction at a time--to avert catastrophe, and to repair the damage already done.
We begin with a belief that fostering good personal relationships in our homes, neighborhoods, and places of work is the first and foremost priority. Because we are a socially-interdependent species, our ability to relate well with others is fundamental to our survival. Cooperative, cohesive relationships are the source of our social capital and commonwealth, the means by which we flourish.
Your physical and mental health are also of primary importance. When stressed, unhealthy, or ill, humans are less able to care for themselves and their neighbors. The ways we treat others, respond to the ways they treat us, and cope--day to day and week to week--all deserve careful attention.
We also believe kinship extends far beyond ourselves and those we know by name. Therefore, when you are ready, we are here to help mend the wounds of the most unmentionable dis-ease afflicting our society: the role money, race, and inequality play in our lives. Whether it is fear, resentment, envy, anxiety, pity, or guilt; working long hours at the expense of caring for our families; or accumulating wealth or debts which force unsavory decisions at home or work, our shared experience of life is profoundly unsettled--some might say corrupted--by competition, scarcity, and over-consumption.
We are connecting clients (whom we call seekers) with a diverse variety of therapists, teachers, healers, artists, and journalists (whom we call companions) all searching for ways to resolve the struggles we face. The more who participate, the more effective our efforts will become. Although our approach currently appears unconventional, it is quite ancient and mundane. Some might even call it humane.
If you're ready, please contact us. If you're giving it more thought, take a few moments to review our guiding observations, or check out the appetizers on the menu. We are here, with open hearts and minds, ready to work together for our mutual flourishing.
